When Sisk required a temporary perimeter security solution for Symmetry Park during the crucial handover phase between enablement works and the finished build, they faced a significant challenge. The 475-metre perimeter demanded a robust hoarding system, but there was a critical constraint: the exterior groundworks had already been completed.
Traditionally, an in-ground hoarding system would have been the most cost-effective option for a project of this scale. However, installing such a system would have caused substantial delays and damage to the newly finished ground surface.
Sisk needed an on-ground solution that could deliver the same level of security and structural integrity without disrupting the existing site conditions. The solution also needed to comply with TWf:2012 hoarding guidance, withstand the specific wind loading for the site’s location, and incorporate five access points – three vehicle gates and two pedestrian gates.
Panthera Group recommended EnviroHoard™, our patent-pending net-zero hoarding system, as the ideal solution for Symmetry Park. Our innovative design utilises low-carbon EnviroBloks as the foundation, eliminating the need for ground excavation whilst maintaining exceptional structural stability. This quick, no-dig installation method meant that the project could proceed without any damage to the completed groundworks, saving both time and money.
Our experienced team worked closely with Sisk to design a bespoke 475-metre perimeter system that met all technical requirements. The hoarding was engineered to withstand the wind loading specific to the site’s location and fully complied with TWf:2012 guidance. We integrated three vehicle gates and two pedestrian gates into the design, ensuring smooth site access throughout the handover phase.
Crafted from 100% recycled uPVC with partially recycled reusable steel frames, EnviroHoard™ provided Sisk with a construction site hoarding solution that aligned with their sustainability commitments. As the UK’s first LCA-verified net-zero hoarding system to undergo an extensive cradle-to-grave Life Cycle Assessment in accordance with EN 15804:2019, EnviroHoard™ delivered measurable environmental benefits that contributed to improved project scoring under BREEAM and Considerate Constructor schemes.
By choosing EnviroHoard™ over traditional timber and plywood hoarding, Sisk achieved remarkable sustainability outcomes at Symmetry Park:
Beyond these impressive environmental stats, the project benefited from the practical advantages of our modular system. The quick installation process kept the project on schedule, whilst the durable uPVC panels provided reliable perimeter security throughout the handover phase. The EnviroHoard™ system’s panels could be easily reconfigured as site requirements evolved, offering flexibility that traditional timber hoarding simply cannot match.
By partnering with Panthera Group, Sisk found a solution that met their technical requirements, protected completed groundworks, and supported their commitment to sustainable construction practices.
