With Autumn now upon us, it will soon be time to put the clocks back and enjoy that extra hour in bed.
Clocks change on Halloween night, Sunday 31st October 2021 in the early hours of the morning – not only an extra hour but more time to enjoy any festivities.
With most people relying on smart phones to update the time automatically, it’s fair to say that the clocks changing can often go unnoticed. Equally, the slightly warmer weather in September has meant that the darker winter months have possibly crept up on us unnoticed.
With this in mind, this is a swift reminder about the clocks going back the possible affects your construction site.
Does your construction site have sufficient lighting installed for the darker winter months?
As darker evenings loom it’s increasingly important to plan sufficient temporary lighting for your construction site.
Ensuring that your sites are kept bright means that ‘finishing up early for the day’ is a thing of the past directly increasing productivity among the workforce. Importantly, ensuring your site is well lit can help mitigate any Health & Safety concerns whilst works are underway.
A sufficiently lit site may also help deter trespassers.
Soon it will be dark around 4pm; winter months, or ‘lighting season’ as we call it, are historically the busiest time of year for temporary site services. Whether you have put off lighting installations until now or whether there are possibly some areas of the site that need extra attention – now is the time to get in touch.
When do the clocks change again?
Of course, the clocks go forward again on Sunday 27th March 2022 to welcome in Spring and marking the beginning of British Summer Time.
