Another success for Panthera Group!  January 2022 marked the company’s ninth annual audit with the National Security Inspectorate (NSI).

Panthera Group was announced the first UK organisation to comply with the National Security Inspectorate (NSI) Code of Practice, NCP115, which regulates the design, installation, and maintenance of scaffolding alarm systems, requiring companies to comply with industry’s highest standards by achieving business excellence.  This Code of Practice provides an industry benchmark to which scaffold alarm systems providers can aspire and adhere to.

The NSI’s rigorous audit process is not for the faint hearted and is broken into two parts; not only will auditors visit certificated construction sites, but they also make a purposeful visit to audit compliance at the company’s headquarters.

In the first phase of review, the auditors select live construction sites at random to ensure that the company’s working practices consistently comply with NCP115.  The objective of the Surveillance Audits on site is to evaluate the effectiveness and conformity of the company’s Quality Management System in meeting its specified objectives and with BS EN ISO 9001:2015; to do this, the auditor will assess the system, site survey notes and risk assessment, system design proposal, commissioning document, fitted specification and copy of the relevant NSI certificate – whilst also testing the ‘live’ system.

Mark McGoldrick, Director of Security at Panthera is the driving force behind the division’s unswerving commitment to compliance and quality:

“Panthera Security has the largest team covering the entire UK with scaffold alarm installations available at just 24 hours’ notice.  Since becoming NSI Gold accredited in 2013, Panthera Security have the become the preferred Scaffold Alarm installer for over seventy companies and organisations – Building Surveyors, Estate and Block Managers, Banks, Insurers and Local Authorities. They have all chosen to specify Panthera because of our commitment to experience, quality, accreditations and importantly ‘risk mitigation’, as we are the only installer in the UK able to certificate installations to meet NCP115 for insurance compliance.  The NSI’s audit procedure is thorough and includes audits of the company every six months to ensure consistency in compliance. The NSI requires Panthera to produce reports on alarm activations with detail of our ability to respond and reduce activations”.

The gruelling audit process does not stop there.  The NSI’s auditors continue their thorough check of the company by visiting its registered office to ensure compliance across various areas of the business by reviewing continuous improvement plans, training matrix documents, improvement initiatives, risk and opportunity analysis, and development of internal audits and company competence, and so much more!

In 2020, Panthera’s Managing Director, Neal James appointed Julie Watts of The Business Eye Ltd, an independent quality and environmental advisor, to implement and manage internal procedures and compliance, and is responsible for leading the successful January audit:

“Firstly, working with such a committed team at Panthera in making sure things are achieved the correct way for their customers and employees is impressive and refreshing. This audit is not an easy one – being the highest level at NACOSS Gold means the audit is as stringent as the accredited version of ISO9001. Both customers, and employees are asked their opinion of the company; the high level of excellence required from cradle to grave customer experience is immense. From the consultant point of view, this is a challenging and enjoyable audit but one of the most challenging. But with Panthera leading the way in excellence the partnership achieves the highest results and the successful accreditation for another year”.

The company is heading towards its ten-year anniversary of NACOSS Gold status and is looking forward to celebrating this in 2023.
