Panthera Group is delighted to have partnered with leading men’s health charity, Prostate Cancer UK, for 2022 with the objective of raising awareness of the disease across the construction industry; an industry that employs predominantly men.

Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men – one in eight men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer and shockingly, this increases to one in four for black men! Early prostate cancer often shows no symptoms, which is why it’s so important to be aware of the risk – if prostate cancer is caught early enough, there’s an excellent chance that it can be successfully treated.

Panthera Group is well positioned to help deliver awareness sessions across the construction industry – helping the charity communicate with construction workers across the UK.

On Wednesday 16th February 2022, Panthera Group was able to proudly facilitate its first awareness session with Prostate Cancer UK and its longstanding client, ISG on site at Millennium Bridge House, London – a spectacular turnout with over 100 construction workers attending the event! A volunteer from Prostate Cancer UK, Patrick Williams, delivered a short ‘toolbox talk’ style awareness session where he not only educated attendees on the symptoms of prostate cancer but also spoke about his own first-hand diagnosis.

Panthera Group’s Managing Director, Neal James, comments:

“Prostate Cancer UK delivered a virtual awareness session to my team at our offices in Redhill in November 2021 – it’s fair to say that most of the team hadn’t realised the potential symptoms of the disease! If my team is typical of the construction sector, then it is clear that there is a huge job to do in the wider construction sector. With this in mind, I was impelled to formalise a partnership with Prostate Cancer UK, with the specific objective of raising awareness across the industry. We are very proud to have helped facilitate such a successful awareness session at ISG’s Millennium Bridge House project – a truly fantastic turnout. We are committed to fund-raising and raising awareness of prostate cancer across the construction industry.”

Prostate Cancer UK is a charity hand selected by Neal after he invited the charity to deliver an awareness session to his team at the company’s headquarters in Redhill, Surrey. Neal explains that he was surprised by how the entire team were moved by the experience of the volunteer and hadn’t realised the potential symptoms of the disease. Panthera Group has committed to raising awareness along with raising funds via the company’s security division along with other fund-raising activities.

Panthera is pleased to have been able to facilitate such a positive awareness session at ISG’s project and will continue to raise awareness of prostate cancer across the construction sector this year.
