Panthera Group has been awarded the hoarding contract to secure Brighton and Hove City Council’s (BHCC) highly anticipated Kingsway to the Sea project.
Morgan Sindall Construction has been appointed by BHCC as the main contractor of the £9.5 million scheme that ‘aims to regenerate the underused and run-down facilities and green spaces on the seafront in West Hove’. Together with community amenities including dedicated sports and leisure facilities, Morgan Sindall Construction is set to restore 40,000sqm of green space with new trees and flora to achieve 20% Biodiversity net gain compared to the existing site.
In early 2023, Morgan Sindall Group signed a group wide framework agreement with Panthera Group for the installation of EnviroHoard™ across its group of companies. The multi-award-winning system by Panthera Group is the UK’s first net zero carbon verified hoarding system and has been praised for its environmental and sustainability credentials. With improved manual handling, the system is quick to install, and can be easily adjusted or relocated.

“The hoarding on this project is only metres away from the beach and the majority ran alongside a public footpath, for these reasons Morgan Sindall’s engineering were particularly concerned on the design of the hoarding. Panthera had not worked for this region of Morgan Sindall but were recommend to the project team from another region who we have supported across numerous projects. Our tender submission included a detailed site-specific design pack which we have since been informed was a key factor in us being awarded the contract.
Additionally, sustainability also played a big part in the contract award decision and on this project EnviroHoard™ is 71.69% lower embodied carbon than a traditional plywood hoarding of the same method, that’s a saving of 13.2 tonnes of C02 eq – that’s the equivalent of driving a diesel car twice around the world”.

By appointing Panthera Group and choosing EnviroHoard™, as a minimum, Morgan Sindall have benefitted from following carbon and climate positive savings:
- Embodied carbon saving of 13.2 tonnes CO2 eq, which is the equivalent saving of: –
- ✈ 13 Return flights from New York to Paris
- ? Charging 1,605,662 smartphones
- 125no trees will be planted
- Saved an estimated 18no trees from being cut down for a single use timber hoarding
